Delivering heat exactly where it's needed, consistently and reliably: what sounds simple can actually be a real challenge—especially in tight spaces or demanding environments.

This is where our mineral-insulated sheathed heating cables provide the solution: precise, stable, and reliable in operation, flexible in installation—and available cut to length by the meter or custom-assembled to your specifications with connectors and bare ends, as needed .

One component— many possibilities

Mineral-insulated sheathed heating cables typically consist of one or two live inner conductors (heating wires) that are reliably shielded from each other and from the metal sheath by an insulator (e.g., magnesium oxide).

The diameter and composition of these inner wires determine the electrical resistance and thus the heating capacity of the conductor—whereas the choice of sheath material (e.g., stainless steel, Inconel, or Hastelloy®) determines the maximum operating temperature and resistance to various environmental influences.

We’d be happy to work with you to determine which model is right for you. Depending on your application, we can supply our mineral-insulated sheathed heating cables either by the meter or custom-made to your specifications.

  1. Metallic protective sheath

Our fabric sold by the meter: ideal for your own projects

Our mineral-insulated heating cables are available by the meter—ideal if you want to process the material yourself. The open ends are sealed for shipping; they do not come with cold ends or electrical connectors.

Upon request, we’d be happy to assist you in selecting the right jacket heating conductor and provide tips on safe installation.

Cold Ends & Electrical Connections – It All Depends on the Right Design:
Cold
ends safely conduct electricity into the jacket heating conductor while remaining significantly cooler than the heating element, since they are heated only indirectly. The electrical connection, on the other hand, connects the heating conductor to the power supply and must therefore be precisely matched to the temperature range, load, and installation conditions.

Configuring the cold ends and electrical connections is therefore not a minor matter; rather, it plays a decisive role in determining the functionality, reliability, and service life of your jacket heating conductor. This is precisely where we are happy to assist you with our expertise.

10 Reasons Why We're the Right Choice for Your Project:

If you need even more precision

The highest standards in accordance with DIN EN 60548 are our minimum requirement when it comes to the precision and quality of our products. And if your requirements are even higher, our additional services make all the difference.

X-ray inspection is a non-destructive and highly precise method for examining and verifying the properties and integrity of materials. This imaging technique can be used to identify defects in installed sheathed thermocouples or heating elements. It is also used, for example, to precisely determine the measurement point, ensuring that the sheathed thermocouple can be installed accurately. Upon request, we are happy to provide our thermocouples with X-ray images, including dimensions and labeling.

To ensure that our mineral-insulated heating cables and custom system solutions actually reach the intended temperatures—in a uniform, reliable, and documented manner—we conduct standardized heating tests using temperature-indicating dye upon request. This simple yet effective method provides visible, reproducible, and, above all, reliable results regarding temperature distribution, thermal design, and manufacturing quality before products are put into service.

If the accuracy of the measurement is important, we calibrate our mineral-insulated sheathed thermocouples using the fixed point or comparison method. This allows deviations within the standard to be determined precisely. Especially when several measuring points are present in applications, it can be important to know the exact deviation of the individual thermocouples. Accordingly, we offer factory calibration as well as DAkkS calibration.

The helium leak test is primarily used for components that are used for an application or in a production process that takes place in a vacuum or ultra-high vacuum (UHV). In order to avoid pressure loss in the application, we test welds and screw connections on our sheath thermocouples or heating applications in advance. On request, we can also supply vacuum-compatible products, including a test report, which are ready for immediate use on site.

To complement our customized system solutions, we also offer professional thermal imaging services. These images accurately document the actual temperature distribution—whether uniform, localized, or featuring critical transitions. This allows for the early detection and correction of hot spots, cold spots, or unwanted temperature gradients—ideal for complex system solutions, confined installation spaces, or sensitive process control.
